THE BAND

Ukrainian born Aksana Serjia is an excruciatingly energetic singer armed with a unique voice and stage presence that can only be described as larger than life.  She was originally discovered performing in a nightclub by music industry veteran Martin Heath of Lizard King Records, most noted for inking deals with artists ranging from Santigold to The Killers.  Under Heath’s guidance, Serjia began to develop her own brand of post-Soviet-meets-American industrial metal and formed the group OXZANA.  While signed to Lizard King, the band went through various musical evolutions and personnel changes, and eventually Serjia decided to go the independent route, allowing her total creative freedom.
Since then, she reconnected Dima Bannov, an old friend and music producer, over Skype and the two started working on tracks together.  When Serjia linked up with like-minded guitarist, singer, producer Leo Luganskiy, she knew she had finally found the perfect musical foundation and partners to help expand her vision for OXZANA into 2012 and the future.   Serjia and her group created shockwaves of buzz as they stunned audiences at New York’s New Music Seminar.  OXZANA is currently writing, recording, and performing, with an upcoming New York show at the Highline Ballroom.  Their latest single “Crimes of Love” is available now.
